Is the Alaskan tundra shrinking really fast because of climate change?

    Yes the permafrost that composes many of the tundra areas is melting very fast transforming the land.  In just 15 years, some places have seen almost 3 feet disapear.  Much of the permafrost is replaced with marshland and open water.
