According to an article that I found, several relatively reliable sources claim that styrofoam is an “immortal” waste material. This means that it will never decompose or completely break down. If the styrofoam is combined with plastic, then the cup will take approximately 50 years to break down.
While browsing, I saw one site that said 400 years (listed below) though the majority said over a million years because there is no living organism that recognizes Styrofoam as food to break it down.
