How much paper gets wasted every year?
US use about 100 Million Ton paper and about 64% is recycled (2009). World use about 300 Million ton and about 40% is recycled.

The use from US is very high....while the world consumption is greater too with 300 million ton and only 40% being recycled.
Americans use approximately 85 million tons of paper per year and only 1/3 of it gets recycled (Recycling Revolution, 2010). This makes approximately 57 million tons of paper waster every year. According to the University of Colorado, every year enought paper is waster to make a twelve inch wall from California to New York.

Its pretty sad to see how much waste is caused in an office type setting. Americans waste too much in general but its ridiculous how much gets wasted at work.
