Is green architecture becoming the norm for new buildings?

Green building is becoming the norm for new buildings for a few reasons. There are certainly more people who feel more of a responsibility for the environment but it's far easier/cheaper to build a green building from scratch rather than retrofit an older building. It's becoming much more accessible and a little more upfront cost can save in the long run. The government is doing its part to allow tax breaks to encourage green building so its popularity will certainly continue to increase.
