Slowly, this article http://www.technologyreview.com/energy/23755/ published today discusses the ability for a 37% increase in thin film solar, from 4.5 to 6.5 percent which still means it is lagging at 24% behind viable commercial solar - I trust this source more than I do another one from 2008 which reports a 19.9% thin film efficiency: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/03/thin-film-solar-panel-efficiency... which would be very impressive indeed, and may quite possibly be true in one instance.
