I suppose the current positive human impact upon the Amazon rainforest is the efforts that have been made in undoing the damage we have done - damages such as logging, drilling, mining, and practicing massive agribusiness.
Fortunately, groups like Rainforest Relief demonstrates its responsibilities in reversing this unfortunate trend with consistent and smart negotiation, use of the media and education.

I don't think humans have had a positive impact on the Amazon. Deforestation of the Amazon is solely due to human activity. Today deforestation in the Amazon is the result of several activities, the foremost of which include:
Clearing for cattle pasture
Colonization and subsequent subsistence agriculture
Infrastructure improvements
Commercial agriculture
Logging
