Can a tree survive after its been struck by lightning?
Trees can survive lightning strikes. Although results may vary from an explosion or a fire to almost no visible damage, if a tree is still standing after a lightning strike it's a good sign that the tree will survive. If the tree is still standing, you can remove dead limbs and bark to give it the best shot at productive budding. You can expose unseen deadwood by applying a wood tissue insecticide - lindane or dursban.
