In general, shade-growth coffee is considered much more environmentally friendly, as growing coffee without shade destroys a vibrant habitat for wildlife. Also, growing coffee under direct sunlight required a dramatic increase in the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides. A company called Seattle's best coffee (SBC) has launched a new line of organic shade-grown coffee which has become an instant success.
