Is America trying to phase out traditional incandescent bulbs?
asked 20 weeks ago in Bulbs & Lighting
That is definitely a safe thing to say. Traditional incandescent bulbs are not as energy friendly nor do they last as long as the other options that are available. And, although these bulbs can be cheaper initially they end up costing more through energy costs over the lifespan of the bulbs. It is with good reason that they should be phased out.

I have yet to hear the government officially declare such a transition but they are certainly encouraging families and businesses to consider the energy efficiency (and financial savings) of alternatives to incandescent lightbulbs. The energy star program is probably the closest effort the government has made to phasing out incandescent bulbs.
