Interesting question, Boissel.  I don't think that any particular currency is bad for the environment, but instead, it is the country that the money comes from that really effects things.  Some of the worst countries for pollution are India or China, because while their economies may be booming, their technology is still coal-powered, which produces a lot of pollution.
