Southern America is home to the largest rainforest system in the world, the Amacon Basin.  Many of the countries in that area face deforestation problems.  However, countries like Brazil and Ecuador are trying to limit illegal logging by implementing policies and laws as well as working with indigenous people that live in the rainforest to better protect this part of the Earth.
