Hi! I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Studies with a concentration in Agriculture, Food, and Social Justice. Majors in this field are committed to social justice work as well as the theory and practice of social change. I lived as a vegetarian for most of my life and made the switch to vegan a few years ago. After having spent my college career studying the environmental and social impacts of food, I am putting that knowledge to work in order to present readers with complete insights into food and the environment. Being a Santa Cruz banana slug was thrilling for me because I was able to spend every day surrounded by redwood trees at a university where students were proud hippies, for want of a better word.
